Fort Farms is passionate about the welfare and health of our pigs.  We raise our pigs outdoors in large grassy pastures, free to run in playful herds, to enjoy fresh air and sunshine, and roll around in the mud. They have access to clean water, shelter from the elements, and are allowed to forage, root, and dig. 

Every two weeks, our pigs are rotated to a new 7-10 acre pasture to ensure their wellness and to rest the field. All of our pork is raised in a rotational grazing system on diversified pasture. We use absolutely no medications or antibiotics.

Raising the Perfectly Happy and Healthy Pig

We are family-owned, and operate on 1,300 acres, located beside the bluff banks of the Wateree River in Horatio, South Carolina.  This picturesque area, referred to as the High Hills of Santee, is well known for its healthy climate, fertile soil, and abundance of natural resources. It provides an ideal environment to raise our heritage breed pigs, which thrive in the outdoors and are easily adaptable to our southern weather conditions.

Our pigs are a labor of love for us, and we proudly hand raise them the “old fashioned” way. We treat our pigs with the utmost respect and give them the attention they deserve, care that only a small family farm can provide.  Our free-range system of rotational grazing ensures that our pigs live a happy and humane life during their time on our farm.

Our goal is to provide an all-natural, delicious pork product that you can feel good about eating and serving to your family, your friends or customers, and is superior in taste and quality.  We invite you to taste and experience the difference in flavor of our pastured pork.
